Epiphone SG Custom 400 or Epiphone Dot Guitar?
What would you recomend to someone that wants to play stoner rock / early mudhoney kinda grunge/ funk rock / blues. I would like to add that i'm a bassist who wants this so i can muck around my college recording studio early thursdays to make a solo album that will be a fuse of funk and grunge. Cheers!

They are both awesome guitars, and good choices and will both work. I can think of a few reasons the SG is better for your needs:
1. The Dots feedback a lot with distortion.
2. The SG is totally lightweight - the Dots are heavier
3. The SG is easy to haul around - the Dot is way bigger and thus not so easy.
Last but not least: The SG is AWESOME!
I guess since guitar is not your #1 instrument, the SG is just a lower maintenance instrument and just kind of easier to have around.
