Bridge Pin Guitar problem?
ok. i just got new bridge pinss and strings for myacousticc guitar. is it possible i could haveboughtt too big of bridge pins? if i push them in, they don't go all the way. should i try pushing harder? or what? I'm afraid ill break something if i push too hard. any help?
Whoops, looks like you're in the wrong section (card games, when you want guitars), but no worries.
When it comes to acoustic guitars, the bridge pins need to fit snugly (note, snugly should not be read as "all the way in").
If you try to force the bridge pins in too far, you could damage the bridge, weaken the strings, or get the bridge pins stuck in the bridge (very annoying problem).
My best suggestion is to make sure they fit tight enough to hold the strings in place once tension is put on the strings. If you put tension on the strings with the bridge pins in tight (but not too tight) and they pop out, take them back to the guitar store (if you didn't buy them online) and ask them to exchange them (really, you should take your guitar in any time you want to add or change parts on it because you want to make sure they will be compatible).
