What is a Stomp Box and What Does It Do?
Tapped and stamped rhythmically to produce sounds similar to a bass drum, stomp boxes are percussion instruments that consist of a small wooden box that is placed under the foot. Mostly used in folk and blues music, singers and guitar players can also create a simple self-accompaniment with it. Stomp boxes are also known as effect pedals, often containing one or two effects that alter how a musical instrument sounds either subtly or dramatically.
