CHOOSING THE RIGHT PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS TO REACH VARIOUS TARGET MARKETS

  The old advertising adage that it’s more important to reach the people who count than to count the people you reach is as true for a million dollar television campaign as it is for a low budget promotion.  The choice of communications or media channels is a crucial aspect in the advertising strategy, and they have to deliver the message directly to the target audience.

There are many different channels, from print and electronic media to social networking media such as Facebook, to promotional products and direct marketing.  Organisations with larger advertising budgets will obviously use a wider spread of media than those with limited resources, but across the spectrum, promotional products are a firm favourite in the marketing mix.  These items have been shown to be very effective in creating brand awareness, and in terms of reach and recall.
