Playability Comfort And Sound Come On Strong With The Ibanez Talman TCY10E
Built as and entry level guitar the hollow body Ibanez Talman TCY10E acoustic electric guitar has a lot of great features often found on more pricier guitars. This musical instrument is built for playability and sound. It plays like a vintage electric, and sounds like a sweet acoustic. Some of the standard equipment that it comes with is piezo pickups, a dual band equalizer for bass and treble and a built in tuner.
Unplugged this guitar is natural warm sounding instrument. Though it is a little soft due in part to it having a body made from mahogany and top made from spruce. Adding to the sound is the mahogany made neck and a rose wood bridge and rose wood fret board.
Surprisingly for an entry level it has advantage bridge pins as well as die cast tuners. The nut and saddle are made from ivorex. The string action comes from the factory set a little high. For those that want to lower it, simply shaving the saddle a little bit does the trick.
Neither is it lacking in the electronics department. It comes with a two band equalizer, AEQ200T preamp and dedicated piezo pickup. It may not have the power and sustain of a humbucker, but it sure sounds clear when you plug it in. Unplugged its sound is reminiscent of early smaller hollow bodies.
Made as a double cutaway, it can be played the length of the neck. The close spacing is tight, but comfortable. They also come finished with a glossy coat that can be several different colors. Whatever the color, it is sure to stand out.
Overall it is a fine design for electric guitar players who are wanting a little acoustic action without changing their playing technique. It handles about like an electric and sounds like and acoustic. Having a bass and treble on the equalizer, and a solid volume control, with an Ibanez Talman the possibilities are endless.
